Amendment Won’t Stop All Abortions

The editorial titled “Legislative Contraception,” which appeared in the June 19 Gloucester Times, showed an amazing lack of understanding regarding the amendment to the State Constitution which was recently voted by the Legislature.

This amendment will not stop abortions on a state level. It will prevent 1.2 million dollars of tax payer dollars from being spent to bring death by abortion to the unborn children of the poor. It will also protect the Conscience Clause which prevents people from being discriminated against for refusal to participate in acts of abortion, and protect indigent mothers from being coerced into abortion for economic reasons.
